My Morning Routine

I find having a morning routine really sets my day up for success

Meditation

Studies suggest regular meditation increases daily calm and slows aging. I tend to prefer guided meditations to keep me on track. One of my favourites is 'Breathing Light' by Anthony William. I try not to miss out this part as I really notice the difference in my well-being, inner calm and ability to attract positive interactions with others.

If I'm short of time, I say a heartfelt prayer - according to Lorna Byrne, even the word 'Amen' alone is considered a prayer.

Lemon Water


🍋 1-2 glasses of filtered water with 1/4 lemon juiced in each glass.

🔸 Helps remove toxins expelled by the liver overnight*
🔸 Drink on an empty stomach, 15-30 mins away from other drinks*
🔸 Avoid chewing the bits of lemon for dental health.

Alternative: a large glass of water 💦 placed over the word 'love' to change its frequency.

Celery Juice a.k.a. "The Miracle Medicine of Our Time"

I make this "herbal tincture" with a masticating juicer and then sieve out any remaining fibre. Initially however, I used a high-speed blender and placed the pulp in nut bag to strain it. It's important not to include any fibre or mix it with anything (including ice) as this can reduce its effectiveness. I make sure I consume it on an empty stomach, 15-30 minutes after/before other drinks to ensure its efficacy.

According to Anthony William, it balances blood sugar, detoxifies daily pollution, kills viruses, improves skin, supports weight loss, lowers inflammation, aids digestion, reduces bloating, prevents UTIs, heals eczema and psoriasis, prevents high blood pressure, helps lower high cholesterol, helps prevent ulcers and has numerous other benefits*

Celery Juice Alternative
Lemon Ginger Water

If I'm out of celery, my go-to is lemon ginger water. Why? It's also anti-inflammatory, notably balances blood sugar, reduces toxins and is quick to make. Of course, it doesn't have half the other benefits celery juice does but it is an easy quick fix.

Recipe:
🔸 1 cup of water
🔸 1/4 lemon, juiced

🔸 1 inch of grated ginger

Blend the above, then stir in...
🔸 1/2 teaspoon of raw honey.

A Brisk Walk in Nature

Being strongly connected to nature, I find daily walks in natural surroundings essential to my own well-being. I generally fit in two walks daily to meet my personal step-count.

Known benefits include:

🔸 Brisk walks are beneficial for bone health

🔸 Opportunity for social interaction, also beneficial for mental health

Breakfast Smoothie

Finally, the best part - breakfast!

My classic is a smoothie, either a Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie or a variant. I occasionally throw in random vegetables (such as raw courgette or celery pulp) or if I'm not doing a morning detox, I'll add in avocado, oats or soaked chia seeds too. A zero-fat breakfast allows the liver to continue its overnight detox.

Here's a simple tasty recipe you might like to try at home:


Blend:

🫐 2 fruit (eg. 1-2 handfuls of blueberries/other)
🔸 1.5-2 bananas OR 200g papaya (I find I need these quantities to sustain me all morning)
🔸 a handful of leafy greens (eg. kale, spinach, parsley or coriander/cilantro)
🔸 a glass of water
